Save money on bills

Times are getting tough, these days and most of us need to tighten up our belts, and cut back on a few of our expenses.

This hub I'll cover 10 ways to consider on how to save on your Cable, Internet, and Telephone Bills

Saving Money on Cable

  • Call your Cable Company and threaten to drop your service, and switch to Satellite Service.

Most cable companies have a "plan' in place to retain customers.

  • Read your package options carefully.

Rather than have extended basic cable, Personally I have Comcast. Extended basic costs around $55 a month

I have the basic cable for $5 a month, then i chose their Digital Starter plan for $15 a month and get over 50 other channels including Oxygen, Lifetime, and Encore. I pay $6 a month for an HD Box and get some HD Channels with that.

So for $26 a month, I get almost as many channels, as Extended Basic Plus High Definition Broadcasting, and save almost $30 a month!

  • Consider Dropping Cable altogether.

You can still order Coupons for Converter Boxes, to receive the Digital Signal over the air when T.V Station switch over in February. But you better hurry, offer ends December 31, 2008

Saving Money on Internet

  • Renew your contract

Internet service providers offer new customers discount rates, you are usually eligible for these rates if you have passed your original contract terms.

I use Verizon DSL and got a great deal on a new package, plus a free modem upgrade, since my modem was over 5 years old.

  • See if Bundle Deals are available.

By Combining T.V, Phone, and Internet you can get a Bundled Deal for all three. these rates usually last for a year, So just make sure you keep an eye on how long you've had these bundled packages, because after the deal expires you pay full price for these services.
